OBIT ALLEN, EDDIE LEWIS

ALLEN, Eddie Lewis, 84, of Salem, died Friday, August 6, 1993. Mr. Allen is survived by his wife, Elsie Linkous Allen, with whom he was married 64 years this October. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a championship golfer at Salem Golf Course. He had been employed at McClung's Lumber and retired for 17 years. Also surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Karen Allen of Slidell, La.; one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara A. and William R. Bass of Anderson, S.C.; grandchildren, Robert Allen Jr. and wife Brenda of Houston, Texas, April Lynn Allen and fiance Curtis Crosby, Kevin Bass and wife Carol of Accident, Md., Kyler B. Merrick of Cumberland, Md., Steve Merrick of Cumberland, Md.; great-grandchildren, Brooke Elizabeth Allen, Matthew, Emma and Scott Bass, Jamie, Kara and Jeremy Merrick. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 9, 1993, at Lotz Salem Chapel at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Jonathan L. Bennett officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Sunday between 7 and 9 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
