OBIT BEAMER, HAROLD LEE

BEAMER, Harold Lee, passed away Friday morning, August 6, 1993, at his home at 112 Eleventh Street, NW, Pulaski. Mr. Beamer was a pharmacist and owner of the Tyler Drug Co. He was past president of the Virginia State Board of Pharmacy, having served on the Board for ten years. He was past president of the Official Board of the First United Methodist Church. Mr. Beamer was a member of the Pulaski Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. He organized the Pulaski Business Club, which was a forerunner of the Chamber of Commerce. He was past president of the YMCA. Surviving are his wife, Mary Beamer of Pulaski; one daughter, Elizabeth Beamer of Pulaski; one foster daughter, Mary Lee Henry of Harrisonburg; two sons, Robert Beamer of Columbia, S.C. and Harold Beamer Jr. of Oakridge, Ore.; three grandsons, Mark Beamer of Dallas, Texas, Harold Beamer III of Albany, Ore. and Benjamin Beamer of West Fir, Ore.; one granddaughter, Janelle Beamer of Columbia, S.C. A private graveside service will be held Monday morning in Oakwood Cemetery. A memorial service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. from Stevens Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Jack Weikel and the Rev. Ty Harrison officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at Stevens Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church, Pulaski, or to the New River Valley Hospice, Inc., P.O. Box 10896, Blacksburg, VA 24062-0896, or to the charity of one's choice. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Inc., Pulaski.
