KEEP IT DRY AT FAMILY CONCERTS

I ATTENDED the pops concert at the Salem Civic Center recently and was disturbed that they had a bar set up to sell beer and what else I don't know.

I think it is poor taste to sell beer to a large crowd of people, and have drunks and half-drunks driving and getting out of the congested parking lot after the concert. I saw two ``drunk-drunks,'' and probably there were others who had three or more beers, which I consider too many to be driving.

I don't think that sponsors of a family concert of that nature should be allowed to sell alcoholic beverages. If you pay good money to go and enjoy a concert, you don't want to be constantly interrupted by inconsiderate people going to and coming from the bar all the time. If they aren't going to the bar, they are running to the bathroom. If they want to drink and run to the bathroom, why don't they stay home, or go to a commercial bar and let us enjoy the concert in peace?

\ Terry joins Christian-bashers

MARY SUE Terry has criticized George Allen for attending a fund-raiser held on his behalf at the home of Pat Robertson, as reported in the Roanoke Times & World-News.

Many Virginians are tired of this type of anti-Christian bigotry. Terry should realize that shots taken at Christian leaders, such as Pat Robertson, usually only backfire and reflect poorly on the character and judgment of the politician. And in this case, it reflects poorly on Terry.
