PITTSYLVANIA CRASH KILLS WOMAN, 38

A 38-year-old Martinsville woman died in a Pittsylvania County accident Sunday afternoon.

Elizabeth Haizlit Harris Browning of Pine Street was pronounced dead at the scene of the 12:15 p.m. accident.

State police said the car in which Browning was a passenger ran off the left side of Virginia 729 about 10 miles north of Danville and struck an embankment.

Browning, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the car, police said.
