OBIT JONES, DOROTHY MAE

JONES, Dorothy Mae, 81, of Wytheville, formally of Waynesboro, died Sunday, August 8, 1993, in Wytheville. Born July 14, 1912, in Louisa County, Va., Mrs. Jones was the daughter of the late Julian Vivian Jones and Fleetie Estelle Hubbard Jones, and widow of John Wade Jones. She was a retired visiting teacher for the City of Waynesboro, member of Waynesboro First Baptist Church, and former president and member of Business and Professional Women of Waynesboro. Mrs. Jones is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, John Wade and Susan R. Jones Jr. of Wytheville, Dr. Alonzo L. and Minerva L. Jones of Blacksburg, Wellington H. and Susan S. Jones of Winchester; seven grandchildren, Jodie L. Jones of Baltimore, Md., Wade F. Jones and Tracy L. Jones, both of Wytheville, Allison T. Jones of Largo, Fla., Amy L. Jones of Blacksburg, Kristin L. Jones, and Jeffery W. Jones, both of Winchester. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 10, 1993, from Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Gordonsville, Va., with interment in Maplewood Cemetery with the Rev. Phillip Bailey officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Waynesboro First Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 301 Wayne Ave., Waynesboro, Va. 22980, or St. Paul United Methodist Church Building Fund, 330 Church St., Wytheville, Va. 24382.
