Ferguson Enterprises Inc., a Newport News plumbing equipment distributor with operations in Roanoke, has acquired the four Texas locations of San Antonio-based Armstrong Plumbing Supply Co. and plans to combine them with its own.

\ The Kroger Co. said Monday that United Food & Commercial Workers Union Local 7 began a strike over the weekend at 10 stores in its 36-store City Markets division based in Grand Junction, Colo. The Cincinnati-based company, which operates its Mid-Atlantic Marketing division in Roanoke, said the stores are running on reduced hours, but sales are minimally affected.
