OBIT THOMAS, ETHEL MADISON
THOMAS, Ethel Madison, 97, of Roanoke, died at the Meadow Brook Nursing
Home in Shawsville on Sunday, August 8, 1993. She was born in Roanoke on
November 26, 1895 the daughter of Madison Crawford Thomas and Nannie Vinyard
Thomas. She was a life long resident of Roanoke and a member First
Presbyterian Church. Surviving are two nieces, Mrs. Creighton (Anne) Campbell
Jr., Roanoke, Mrs. Hugh (Nancy) Sudduth, Bluefield, W.Va.; five great-nieces
and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at the grave in Evergreen
Cemetery by Dr. Robert Smith (Minister of First Presbyterian Church) 2 p.m.
Tuesday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Campbell Memorial
Fund at First Presbyterian Church, Roanoke, Va. Friends may call at Oakey's
Roanoke Chapel.
