MUSEUM NOW OPEN MONDAYS

Historic Crab Orchard Museum and Pioneer Park will be open seven days a week through October, even though its brochures show it closed Mondays.

It had been using Mondays for cleaning exhibits and maintenance but, as an experiment, tried opening Mondays this summer. It has had up to 60 Monday visitors and several guided tour groups.

Its new schedule is 9-5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10-5 p.m. Saturday and 2-5 p.m. Sunday through October. From November through March, it will be closed Sundays. Southwest bureau
