Called the "best interviewer in the business" by Sports Illustrated, Firestone has been a television sports journalist for nearly 20 years.
He joined the Entertainment and Sports Programming Network in 1984, and became host of the all-sports cable channel's interview show in 1990.
Firestone, who was host of "SportsLook" on cable's USA Network before moving to ESPN, has interviewed some of the biggest names in the sporting world on "Upclose." He has become well known for his eloquent interview style and hard-hitting questions.
In addition to his Emmy awards, Firestone has received two Awards for Cable Excellence, the Northeastern University Award for Broadcast Journalism, two Golden Mike Awards and the Los Angeles Press Club Award for best sportscast.
Firestone also is an impressionist and a stand-up comic.
His act routinely features comedy, music and impersonations.
