BLACKSBURG POLICE OPEN HOUSE AUG. 20

The Blacksburg Police Department, 200 W. Clay St., is holding an open house on Aug. 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in recognition of its recent international accreditation certification. The accreditation required that the depatment meet 923 standards set by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies.

A new police cruiser and the recently acquired crime scene collection unit van will be on display, along with their documents of accreditation. Tours will be given by officers, and refreshments will be served.
