OBIT HILT, MARY ALICE PHIPPS

HILT, Mary Alice Phipps, 76, of Tannersville, died Tuesday, August 10, 1993, at her home in Tannersville, Va. Mrs. Hilt was a faithful wife and mother. She was an active member of the Crabtree Chapel United Methodist Church, where she taught the children's class for many years. She was also a member of the Crabtree - Wesley United Methodist Women. She is survived by her husband, Edward B. Hilt, Tannersville; two sons, Donald E. Hilt and Ralph T. Hilt, both of Tannersville; one daughter-in-law, Sandra Hilt, Tannersville; two brothers, Joe T. Phipps, Abingdon, Edward D. Phipps, Rich Valley; two sisters, Mabel P. Lamie, Rich Valley, Nina Belle Holmes, Tannersville. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, August 13, 1993, at the Crabtree Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Carbary and Rev. Wiley Neal officiating. Mrs. Hilt's body will be taken to the Church one hour before the service. Burial will follow in the Crabtree Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the D. R. Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville. Flowers will be appreciated, however; memorial contributions may be made to the Crabtree United Methodist Church or to the Tannersville Rescue Squad.
