RELIGION BRIEFS

\ GOSPEL SINGER JIM HOSTETTER will present programs Sunday and Aug. 22 at two Roanoke churches. He will be at Edgewood Holiness Church, 5116 Springfield Ave. N.W., Sunday at 7:30 p.m. On Aug. 22 at 6 p.m., he will be at Forest Park Baptist Church, 812 29th St. N.W. An offering with be taken.

\ EDGEWOOD CHRISTIAN CHURCH, 1006 Peck St. N.W., will begin its vacation Bible school Saturday with a 10 a.m. parade in the Edgewood, Morwanda Park and Summit Hills neighborhoods. The school will be in session Monday through Aug. 20 evenings from 7 to 9. Call 986-0414 to register.

\ A YOUTH MUSICAL is scheduled Sunday at 4 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Hollins.

\ EXALTATION!, a concert of contemporary Christian music, is planned Saturday night at 6:30 at Faith Alliance Church, 7505 Barrens Road. An ensemble from Toccoa Falls College in Georgia will perform.

\ EBENEZER A.M.E. CHURCH will sponsor a community festival Saturday at 1563 Lafayette Blvd. N.W. There is $1 donation for games and refreshments. The rain date is Aug. 21.

\ BISHOP MILTON WILLIAMS, recently named to head the Fifth Episcopal District of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, will visit Price Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church Sunday. He will preach at 11 a.m. The church is at 506 15th St. N.W.

Lula G. Williams, the bishop's wife, will speak at 4 p.m.

\ THE REV. DR. HUGH JOHNSON, church development specialist with the Protestant Church in Algeria, will speak Sunday at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. at Huntington Court United Methodist Church. Accompanied by his wife, Fritzi, Johnson is supported by several United Methodist congregations. He also teaches at a Catholic center and works with a Bible society.
