OBIT-SLOAN, ROBERT VIRGIL

SLOAN, Robert Virgil, 71, of Rt 2, Ferrum, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 1993. Mr. Sloan was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Millard Sloan and Berta Saul Sloan; three brothers, Birchel Lee Sloan, William Alfred Sloan, Millard Junior Sloan. He was also preceded in death by two grandsons, Danny A. Sloan Jr., Terry V. Sloan. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elsie Sloan; three sons and daughters-in-law, Vernard and Carolyn Sloan, Jimmy and Ruby Sloan, Dannie and Janie Sloan; one daughter and son-in-law, Denna and Earl Austin; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Thomas Burford Sloan, Coy and Barbara Sloan, Berkley and Ruby Sloan; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Verta Elizabeth Perdue, Delphia (Dell) Carroll, Jessie and Bob Brown and Nelma and John Meade; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, August 13, 1993, at the Arrington-Bussey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lowell Stovall and Rev. Steve Tilley officiating. Burial will follow in the Cooper Family Cemetery.
