OBIT-BAKER, HARRY A.

BAKER, Harry A., 68, of Blacksburg, died Thursday, August 12, 1993, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. He leaves this world for a heavenly home with his Lord Jesus. He was born in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, on September 19, 1924 and moved to Blacksburg, in 1964 where he soon began working at Virginia Tech. He was employed by the University as a food operations assistant in Owens Dining Hall until his retirement in 1981. He was preceded in death by his mother, Naomi Runkal Baker, his father, Harris H. Baker, and his sister, Dorothy May Eck. He is survived by many friends who counted his friendship dear. A memorial service will be conducted at Wesleyan Community Church in Blacksburg on Sunday, August 15, 1993 at 6 p.m. with the Rev. John Lemasters presiding. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wesleyan Community Church, CYC Children's Fund, 1521 S. Main St., Blacksburg, Va. 24060.
