D.C. BUS TRIP TO MARK KING `DREAM' SPEECH

A meeting will be held Tuesday night for people who are interested in going to Washington, D.C., on Aug. 28 to commemorate the 1963 March On Washington that was capped by Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have A Dream" speech.

The Roanoke branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is sponsoring a bus to take marchers to Washington for the daylong 30th anniversary march.

The Rev. Charles Green, president of the Roanoke NAACP, said the bus will leave Roanoke about 5 a.m. and depart Washington about 5 p.m. that same day.

Tuesday's organizational meeting will be at 7 p.m. at the Roanoke Tribune, 2318 Melrose Ave. N.W. For more information, call Green at 342-6167.
