BIG FOOTBALL NAMES SET TO ROAST DUDLEY ON OCT. 21

Some of football's biggest names will gather here Thursday, Oct. 21 for the "Bill Dudley Roast Night," a $100-a-plate dinner to benefit Seven Hills School.

Among those scheduled to roast Dudley, the Pro Football Hall of Famer and former Virginia All-American, are former NFL comissioner Pete Rozelle; Pittsburgh Steelers' president Art Rooney; former Supreme Court Justice and All-America choice Byron "Whizzer" White; and Pete Elliott, executive director of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Also scheduled to speak are former NCAA executive director Dick Schultz, longtime TV sportscaster Jim Simpson and Liberty University coach and former NFL coach Sam Rutigliano. Banquet organizers also are waiting for confirmation from sportscasters Frank Gifford and Pat Summerall.

The dinner is scheduled at Lynchburg's Radisson Hotel, beginning at 6:30 p.m. with a social hour. For information and tickets, call banquet coordinator Roz Dodd, (804) 384-7716.
