The Kennedy-Hannah nuptials are set for this fall, as early as Sept. 11, reported the paper, quoting Kennedy family sources.
Mother-in-law to be Jacqueline Onassis already is planning the ceremony, one unidentified source said. She wants the ceremony to be dignified without becoming a media feeding frenzy, the newspaper said.
\ Renovations proceed apace on the Ed Sullivan Theater for David Letterman's CBS debut. Will it be ready for his new "Late Show With David Letterman" on Aug. 30?
It will, said a CBS exec. But, like most major rehabs, "it has turned out to be a bigger job than we expected," said CBS Senior Vice President Ed Grebow.
Crews have been working round the clock for 12 weeks. "There was a lot of hidden damage to the building that I hadn't counted on," Grebow said. "We ended up replacing every pipe and wire in the place, and there were rats the size of cats in the basement that we had to relocate."
The redone theater will seat 400 people (twice the number of Letterman's NBC studio audience). Final touches to the set will be completed this week, according to Grebow.
\ Florida's Department of Citrus is pulling all its orange juice ads featuring Burt Reynolds. Reynolds' sudden filing for divorce from his wife of five years, Loni Anderson, is the reason.
The juicy scandal "was beginning to overshadow the orange juice message," said Eric Boomhower, Citrus Department spokesman. Reynolds' one-year, $500,000 contract will not be renewed in November.
The marital split, now being played out in the tabloids, has Reynolds admitting a secret affair with a cocktail waitress who was formerly a Tampa Bay Rowdies cheerleader.
The department's action recalls a similar incident a dozen years ago when the state agency dropped singer Anita Bryant as a result of controversy surrounding her outspoken views against homosexuals.
