OBIT-HAYES, JOHN CARROLL

HAYES, John Carroll, 65, of Chilhowie, died Tuesday, August 17, 1993 at his home. He was a retired employee of Lincoln Builders, Marion, a retired U. S. Air Force veteran, a member of the Chilhowie Masonic Lodge #250 A.F. & A.M., Kazim Shrine Temple of Roanoke, Francis Marion V.F.W. Post #4667, American Legion Post #0018, both of Marion. He is survived by his wife, Mary P. Hayes; a son and daughter-in-law, John M. and Donna Hayes, Chilhowie; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Don Smith, Chilhowie; one brother, Robert E. Hayes, Chilhowie; two sisters, Katherine H. Osborne, Chilhowie, Jody Graham, New Smyrna Beach, Fla. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Williams Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Virgil S. Blevins officiating. Interment will follow in Middle Fork Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by V.F.W. Post #4667 of Marion. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Williams Funeral Home. A masonic service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday by Chilhowie Masonic Lodge #250 A.F. & A.M.
