OBIT-THACKER, LOUIS, ("LOU")

THACKER, Louis, ("Lou"), of Duffield, died Monday, August 16, 1993, in route to Lonesome Pine Hospital, Big Stone Gap. A Nashville, Tenn. native, Mr. Thacker was a former resident of Johnson City. He had moved to Southwest Virginia two years ago after living in Roanoke for 22 years. Mr. Thacker was a son of the late Ernest and Maggie Colquette Thacker. He had been employed as an insurance staff manager. Mr. Thacker was a member of Daleville Baptist Church, Daleville. Survivors include his wife, Suzanne McKinney Thacker; one son, Ross Thacker, Roanoke; one grandson; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home Chapel in Johnson City, Tenn. Rev. Reece Harris will officiate. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until 2 p.m. Thursday. Arrangements by Morris-Baker, 2001 Oakland Ave., Johnson City.
