Roseann Kiski's hole in one during her club's championship tournament was so exciting it deserved a repeat performance.
Kiski, competing Monday in the women's championship at Cedarbrook Golf Club in Belle Vernon, Pa., had two holes in one during the same 18-hole round. She aced the 89-yard par-3 third hole with a 9-iron, then used a 6-iron to ace the 130-yard 15th hole.
Despite the double hole in one, Kiski didn't win the club championship. She finished back in the pack with an 84.
\ The National Hockey League Players' Association filed a lawsuit challenging the right of NHL Commissioner Gary B. Bettman to arbitrate disputes involving free agents.
The lawsuit, filed in federal court in Manhattan, sought to reverse Bettman's rulings regarding Edmonton Oilers forward Craig Simpson and Washington Capitals left wing Kelly Miller, both pursued by the San Jose Sharks.
The players' association said the commissioner, appointed and employed by the owners of the 26 NHL teams to lead the league's management team, has an "inherent bias." It said both cases should be submitted to an arbitrator.
\ Capital Cities-ABC Inc. and the Hearst Corp., co-owners of ESPN, announced they have reached agreement with Time Warner Cable to carry ESPN2 on its systems.
Time Warner is the second-largest multiple system operator, or MSO, in the country, and that agreement now assures ESPN2 of appearing on stations controlled by 16 of the largest 18 MSO's in the country. ESPN2 is set to begin operation Oct. 1.
