OBIT FUNK, CLAUDE WESLEY

FUNK, Claude Wesley, 80, of Groseclose, died Thursday, August 19, 1993, in Smyth County Community Hospital. Mr. Funk was a retired farmer in the Groseclose Community. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert W. Funk. He is survived by his wife, Gladys Campbell Funk, Groseclose; two daughters and sons-in-law, Louise F. and Clarence C. Catron, Groseclose, Anne F. and Robert N. Whisman, Marion; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Marvin E. Funk, James C. and Nancy L. Funk, all of Groseclose; two sisters, Georgia Fay Meek and Anna Mae Blevins, both of Marion; four brothers, Ernest C. Wayne S. and Jack Funk, all of Marion, and Roy L. Funk, Fort Myers, Fla.; five grandchildren, Micheal C. Catron, Christopher S. Catron, Kevin Funk, Mark Funk, and Michelle Whisman; one great-grandchild, Camille Catron. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 21, 2 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel, with the Rev. Mike Sage and the Rev. Ronnie Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens in Rural Retreat. The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Seaver-Brown Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
