MARKHAM-JANEY

Robin L. Janey and R.G. Markham, II were married August 21, 1993, inWesthampton Christian Church. Theofficiant was Pastor Paul Matheny. The matron of honor was Darlene Looney, friend of the bride. The bridesmaids were Holly Beasley, sister of the bride; Tammie Strickland, friend of the bride; and Niki Newman, cousin of the bride. They were all dressed in long straight, amethystcolored gowns with white lace draped across the off shoulder necklines. Each carried white, longstem roses. The best man was Wayne Strickland and the ushers were Nick Bryson, Rob Leonard, Tony Pullen, and Paul Biggio, all friends ofthe groom. They were dressed in black tuxedos with multi-colored accessories. The ringbearer was Simon Thomas,cousin of the bride.

The bride's gown was white satin and tulle. The short sleeved satin bodice was embellished with pearls and sequins and was fitted over the hip. The bottom fell into full layers of tulle with scattered daisy appliques, which fell into a chapel length train. She carried a cascadingbouquet of white and purple tiger lilies, white carnations, roses, and purplestatice.

The bride is the daughter of Ms.Sandra Newman of Roanoke, Leon and Sherry Janey of Martinsville, and step-daughter of Randy Beasley of Roanoke. She is a graduate of Cave Spring High School and is employed by Carter, Brown & Osborne, P.C. The bridegroom, son of Gerald & Cindy Markham of Thaxton and Margaret and Fred Dickson of Roanoke, is also a graduate of Cave Spring High School. He is an electronics engineering student at VA Western CommunityCollege and a Sergeant in the U.S. Army Reserves.

The newlyweds will live in Roanoke after their wedding trip.
