RHODES-SHORTT

Emily Sue Shortt and Byron Lee Rhodes were married August 21, 1993, in Big Spring Baptist Church, Elliston, Va., with Reverend Steve Sholar officiating. The reception was held at The Patrick Henry. The maid of honor was Debbie Paloma, friend of bride. Bridesmaids were Lauren Plott and Amy Ebel, cousins of bride, Christine Rhodes and Elizabeth Rhodes, sisters of groom. The best man was Robert Root, uncle of groom. Ushers included Blake Rhodes, brother of groom, Alex Ghyka, William Apperson, Richard Gramzow, friends of groom, Doug Saunders, cousin of bride. The guestbook was attended by Theresa Nuckols. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Woodie O. Shortt of Christiansburg. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Rhodes of Arlington. The newlyweds will live in Sterling after a wedding trip to Bermuda.
