PROUD VOTER SETS RECORD STRAIGHT

It was reported in a July article on the Montgomery County Supervisors meeting that I was not a registered voter. I would like to set the record straight.

I was nominated for the county youth advisory board at this meeting. Due to mistakes by the Montgomery County officials who researched my voter status, it was reported to the board that I was not registered to vote in Montgomery County.

I voted in the presidential election in Floyd County. I moved to Riner (Montgomery County side) after the election and registered to vote there several months after the election. Montgomery County officials only checked on who voted in the presidential election in Montgomery County, thus they did not see my new registration in the county.

The situation is cleared up and I now serve on the youth advisory board for Montgomery County. I take pride in the fact that no matter where I have lived, I have voted in every election since I was eligible to register to vote at age 18.\ Pete D. Castelli III\ Riner
