WOODBRIDGE MAN DIES BREAKING UP GANG FIGHT

A Woodbridge man was shot to death over the weekend after intervening in a fight between members of rival gangs, police said.

Police think the slaying, which took place outside a party in Dale City, was the first incidence of gang violence in the county.

Wayne Patrick Smith, 20, was taken to Potomac Hospital Saturday morning with a single gunshot wound to the head, Prince William County police said. - Associated Press
