COOPER, RHODESSA MAY HANNABASS, 87, OF ROANOKE,
COOPER, Rhodessa May Hannabass, 87, of Roanoke, died Sunday, August 22,
1993. She was born February 10, 1906, in Franklin County, a daughter of the
late Ambrose Nathaniel and Joanna Kasey Hannabass. She was preceded in death
by a daughter, Ruby May Cooper and a grandson, Joel Patrick Friend. Surviving
are five sons and four daughters-in-law, Hubert Lee Jr. and Phyllis Cooper of
Vinton, George Nathaniel and Margie Cooper of Moneta, Vance M. and Goldie
Cooper of Roanoke, Bobby J. and Shirley Cooper of Vinton and Richard L. Cooper
of Mena, Ark.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Mrs. Ned (Louise C.) Harris of
Elon and Peggy and Robert Friend of Moneta; 19 grandchildren; 18
great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be
conducted from Oakey's Vinton Chapel at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 24, 1993, with
the Rev. Donald E. Eshelman officiating. Burial will be in Sherwood Memorial
Park. Friends may call at Oakey's Vinton Chapel where the family will receive
friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.
