OBIT - HAYGOOD, FLOYD HAROLD SR.
HAYGOOD, Floyd Harold Sr., 67, of Salem, died Saturday, August 21, 1993, in
the VA Hospital. He was born in Blacksburg, S.C. and was a member of the Odd
Fellows Lodge #100, A.F.&A.M. He was a veteran of World War II, a member of
the D.A.V. #14, a member of Constabulary Association, and a member of the
Salem Wesleyan Church. He is survived by his wife, Ethel Gordon Haygood; two
sons and one daughter-in-law, Floyd Jr. and Beverly Haygood, Timothy Haygood,
all of Salem; two daughters and one son-in-law, Gloria Ann Shortridge, Johnson
City, Tenn., Wanda and Joe Lester, West Columbia, S.C.; three grandchilden,
Russell and Nicole Haygood, James Gunter; three nieces; one special friend,
Charles Patton, Johnson City, Tenn. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m.
Tuesday at the John M. Oakey and Son Funeral Home by the Rev. Paul Braisted.
Burial in Sherwood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, send donations to the
Disabled American Veterans Service Fund in honor of Floyd Haygood Sr., 2141
Dale Ave., S.E., Roanoke, Va. 24013. John M. Oakey and Son Funeral Home,
Salem, is in charge of arrangements.
