MANLEY, WALTER FITCH SR. M.D., 92, OF ROANOKE,
MANLEY, Walter Fitch Sr. M.D., 92, of Roanoke, died Saturday, August 21,
1993, in a local hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Corry, Penn.
and received his Undergraduate Degree and Medical Degree from the University
of Michigan. He interned at Bellvue Hospital in New York City and trained in
Dermatology at New York Skin and Cancer Hospital. He began his medical
practice in Roanoke in 1926. He was a founding member of the American Academy
of Dermatology and retired in 1968. He was a member of the Second Presbyterian
Church. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Walter F. Manley Jr. M.D.
and Joann K. Manley of Roanoke; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary B. (`Binnie`)
Ponsetto and Jospeh L. Ponsetto of Grand Rapids, Mich.; six grandchildren;
seven great-grandchildren. A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 2
p.m. Tuesday by the Dr. William R. Klein at Sherwood Memorial Park. Friends
may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
