NEW RIVER PEOPLE IN BUSINESS

ERNESTINE J. FORESMAN and VLADIMIR "VAL" SABAN have been appointed to the advisory board of the Blacksburg office of the First National Bank of Christiansburg.

Foresman is the president of Raines Real Estate, and Saban is president of Unimet Inc.

VTLS Inc., an integrated library-automation software company in Blacksburg, has announced several management promotions and appointments:

\ JACK BAZUZI has been promoted to the new position of vice president and director of international operations, and JOHN ESPLEY has been promoted to director of education and training.

\ MURRAY CROWDER has been promoted to director of customer service, and ARI PALTTALA is the new director of marketing.

\ DIMITRI KRINOS has been appointed to the new position of chief, science and technology.

\ RICHARD L. REPASS and PAT KIRKLAND of Century 21 Home Town Realty in Pulaski and DIANE WHITED of Century 21 Old Virginia Ltd. of Blacksburg recently were honored by Century 21 Real Estate of the Mid-Atlantic States for excellence during the second quarter of 1993.

Auburn High School graduate BARRY JOHNSON of Riner has accepted an assistant-engineer position with the architectural, engineering and planning firm of Wiley & Wilson in Lynchburg.
