AUTO SUPPLIERS PLAN EXPANSION IN MEXICO

Two major automotive suppliers are expanding production in Mexico to serve that country's growing automotive industry regardless of the political uncertainty surrounding the North American Free Trade Agreement.

Lear Seating Corp. has agreed to buy four seat-trim plants near Juarez from Ford Motor Co. Rockwell Automotive will build a new plant in Queretaro, about 120 miles northwest of Mexico City. Both companies said they have no plans to move U.S. jobs to Mexico. - Knight-Ridder/Tribune
