OBIT DAVIS, RUTH ALICE

DAVIS, Ruth Alice, 71, of Roanoke, formerly of Halifax County, died Monday, August 23, 1993. She was the daughter of Lafayette Otha and Georgia Smith Davis of Halifax County. She was a member of Aarons Creek Baptist Church, Virgilina, Va. She is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Graham O. and Fannie P. Davis of Roanoke; two nieces, Vivian D. Nelson of Roanoke and Ellen D. Sizemore of Anderson, S.C.; one great-niece and nephew, Laura L. Nelson and Jeffrey A. Nelson of Roanoke. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, August 26, 1993, at Brooks Funeral Home, South Boston, with the Rev. Richard Cooke officiating. Interment will follow at Aarons Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
