OBIT TURNER, BEULAH FOLEY

TURNER, Beulah Foley, 79, of Roanoke, passed away Sunday, August 22, 1993. She was a Deacon in the Central Church of the Brethren, where she founded the K. I. T. (Keeping In Touch) Program over seven years ago, which is a support group for widows. Mrs. Turner was a former employee of S. H. Heironimus Co. and Samuel Spigel. She was the widow of George Richardson Turner Sr. and was preceded in death by her parents, the Rev. James Marshall Foley and Mary Martin Foley, and a brother, Trevor M. Foley. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Shirley T. and Dr. A. Wayne Bennett, Clemson, S.C.; her son, George Richardson Turner Jr., Richmond; her grandchildren, Elizabeth B. Varnes, Norfolk, Lt. David W. Bennett, USAF, G. Richardson Turner III, Walnut Creek, Calif, David S. Turner, Richmond; her great-granddaughter, Catherine A. Varnes, Norfolk; three brothers, L. Edgar Foley, Fred M. Foley, Jesse B. Foley, all of Roanoke; and two sisters, Cleo F. Hall, Frances F. Jennings, both of Salem. Funeral services will be conducted from Central Church of the Brethren, at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 25, 1993 with the Rev. David A. Yingling officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Tuesday at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, where the family will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
