OBIT WILLIAMS, MARY UPSON

WILLIAMS, Mary Upson, of Salem, formerly of Jackson Ave., Vinton, died Sunday, August 22, 1993. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Upson and the widow of Guy L. Williams. She was a member of Thrasher Memorial United Methodist Church and was a former teacher and graduate of Longwood College. She had taught in Virginia and North Carolina schools and had also attended the University of Virginia and the University of North Carolina. She is survived by a sister, Eunice E. Upson, Salem; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Walker Turner, Baltimore, Md.; four stepgrandchildren; several cousins. Funeral services will be conducted from Oakey's Vinton Chapel at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 25, with the Rev. Dr. George Wesley Jones officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery. Friends may call at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
