OBIT-JOHNSON, EVA BYRD

JOHNSON, Eva Byrd, 74, of Rt 6, Mountain View Rd., Martinsville, died Wednesday, August 25, 1993, at Memorial Hospital, Martinsville-Henry Co. She was born in Reed Creek section of Henry Co. on November 25, 1918, to the late Elcanah Marshall Byrd and Lillie Belle Draper Byrd. She was a retired employee of E.T. DuPont Co. Spinerett, after serving 33 years. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Rich Acres Christian Church; and graduated from National Business College. She is survived by her husband, Charlie R. Johnson; stepdaughters, Brenda Fuller, Hampton, Betty Lang, Pembroke, Ginger Collins, Pearisburg, Kay Price, Pearisburg, Libby Kerr, Pembroke; stepson, Charles R. Johnson, Jr., Pearisburg; brothers, Marshall Douglas Byrd, Martinsville, Roy D. Byrd, Martinsville; 13 stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 28, 1993, 2 p.m. at Rich Acres Christian Church with Minister Creighton C., Beatty officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, from 7 until 9 p.m. at Rich Acres Christian Church. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Rich Acres Christian Church, Rt 6, Box 212, Martinsville, Va. 24112.
