OBIT-HAMBRICK, RANDI LEE

HAMBRICK, Randi Lee, 17, of Salem, died Friday, August 27, 1993, in a local hospital. She attended Salem High School and was an active and proud member in the Pride of Salem Band at Salem High School. She was also a member of the West Salem Baptist Church, an active member of the Student Ministry at the church. Survivors include her mother, Travannian Lynne Boley and stepfather, Allen C. Boley, both of Salem; her father, Robert L. Hambrick and stepmother, Nancy L. Britten Hambrick, both of Roanoke; three brothers, Robert Joseph Hambrick, Quinn Britten and Brian Britten, all of Roanoke; four sisters, Kathy Hambrick Vandegrift of Salem, Christine Boward of Fredericksburg, Laura Boley of Beckley, W.Va., Nicki Boley of Maswa, Japan; paternal grandmother, Bernice Carter of Jacksonville, Fla.; maternal grandparents, Norma McSherry of Roanoke and Tom McSherry of Clifton Forge; niece, Alyssa Rene Hambrick of Roanoke. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 3 p.m. at the West Salem Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael L. Slaughter officiating. Burial will follow in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem. Contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 6318 Peters Creek Road, Roanoke, Va. 24019-4024. The family would like to thank the many doctors and nurses of the Lewis-Gale Hospital for all their efforts and concern shown and also thank the Pride of Salem Band and the Youth Ministry at West Salem Baptist Church for their prayers and support.
