COLLINS-FLINCHUM
Monica Vanessa Flinchum and Mark Andrew Collins were married August 14,
1993, at the rose garden of the Unity Church of Roanoke, Va. Monica is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas W. Flinchum, of Daleville, Va. Mark is the son
of Mr. James R. Collins, of San Diego, Calif., and Mrs. Joan K. Collins, of
Richmond, Va. Officiating the ceremony was Army Chaplain COL. (Ret.) Jack
Rowan, of Timmonsville, S.C., who was accompanied by his family. The wedding
reception took place at the home of the bride's parents. Tammy F. Sweeney,
sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. James R. Collins, father of the
groom, and Richard S. King, uncle of the groom, served as the best "men". A
special thanks to the soloist, Richard Dew, and to Julie Rowan for providing
the wedding music. The bride is a graduate of National Business College of
Salem, Va., and is employed by USAir as a flight attendant in Washington, D.C.
The groom is a graduate of the University of Maine in Orono, Maine, and is
employed by the Roanoke Civic Center as the Assistant Manager. The couple will
reside in Roanoke after the wedding and will take a honeymoon cruise in
September.
