Dawn M. Cairns and Stephen E. Weaver were married August 14, 1993, in St.
Andrew's Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Joseph Metzger III officiating. The
reception was held at Jefferson Ballroom, Radisson Patrick Henry. The maid of
honor was Katherine L. Cairns of Troy, N. Y., sister of bride. Bridesmaids
were Tonya Watson, Mechanicsville, N. Y., cousin of bride; Kerri Vipperman,
Roanoke, Va., friend of bride; Bonnie North, Roanoke, Va., friend of bride;
Glenda Watson, Martinsville, Va., sister of groom. The best man was D. Glen
Weaver, Martinsville, Va., father of groom. Ushers were Matthew Cairns,
Boston, Mass., brother of groom; Michael Blevins, Martinsville, Va., friend of
groom; David Davis, Roanoke, Va., friend of groom; R. Todd Wickliffe, Atlanta,
Ga., friend of groom. The guestbook was attended by Angela Watson, niece of
groom. The bride wore a gown of silk shantung. She carried a bouquet of roses,
daises and ivy. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N. Bruce Cairns of
Melrose, N. Y. She graduated from Oswego State University, Oswego, N. Y., with
a BS in Marketing. She is employed by Roanoke County Schools. The groom is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. D. Glen Weaver of Martinsville, Va. He graduated from
James Madison University, Harrisonburg, Va., with a BBA in Marketing
Management. He is employed by Contel Cellular, Inc. The newlyweds will live in
Cloverdale, Va., after a wedding cruise off the west coast.
