Camp: During the summer this is an all-girls camp that can accommodate 240 campers during each of two 3-week sessions. Family camp has been an Alleghany tradition since the mid-1960s.

Family camp, called House Party - 11/2 weeks each August.
Accommodations - tents mounted on wooden platforms. Two to four cots per tent.
Cost: $36 for each adult, children at a reduced rate.
Activities: tennis, canoeing, riflery, archery, day trips into local caves and mountain hikes.
Camp: Greenbrier is a summer camp for 250 boys ages 7 to 15. Established in 1898, Greenbrier operates on the same schedule as Alleghany, although the camps are independent of each other. (They do this to help brother/sister teams who attend the neighboring camps.) House Party was instituted in 1948 and has been enormously popular ever since. There are very few openings for new families.
