OBIT NASH, JOHN WAYLAND SR., 81, OF ROUTE 1,

NASH, John Wayland Sr., 81, of Route 1, Dublin, died early Sunday morning, August 29, 1993, at his home. He was born August 13, 1912 in Paris Tenn., and was the son of the late Herman and Nellie Nash. Mr. Nash founded Virginia Block Company in September 1945, where he was owner and operator until he retired in 1975. He was a Deacon of the First Presbyterian Church, Pulaski, a member of the Pulaski Rotary Club, a former member of the Pulaski Town Council, past Master of the Pulaski and Allisonia Masonic Lodges, and he was also involved in various other civic organizations in Pulaski. He is survived by his wife, Mary Virginia Nash, Dublin; three sons, John Wayland Nash Jr., Pulaski, Robert H. Nash, Pulaski, James William Nash, Greensboro, N.C.; three sisters, Dora Lee wilson, Little Rock, Ark., Edna Timmerman, Alvin, Tenn., Leona Taylor, Royal Oak, Mich.; two brothers, Richard Nash and Allan Nash, both of Louisville, Ken.; and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Stevens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Joel Preston Wright and the Rev. Eddie Crabtree officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, with Pulaski Masonic Lodge conducting the graveside rites. Visiting will be Tuesday evening at Stevens Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorials be made to the First Presbyterian Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 824, Pulaski, Va. 24301 or to the Presbyterian Children's Home of the Highlands, P. O. Box 545, Wytheville, Va. 24382. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home.
