JOHNSON GETS QB NOD FOR KEYDETS

Spike Johnson will be the starting quarterback when VMI opens its season Saturday at Richmond, coach Jim Shuck announced.

Johnson, a junior who saw action in three games last year as a backup, beat out classmate Erik Reynolds.

In other Keydets news, senior linebacker Camillus Musselman has been named third-team All-America for Division I-AA schools by Don Hansen's Football Gazette.

Musselman is a three-year starter at VMI.
