THOMAS COOK, EX-TECH COUNSELOR, DIES

Thomas E. Cook, director emeritus of the university counseling services at Virginia Tech, died Sunday at his home. He was 61.

Cook began his career at Tech in 1964 as a counseling psychologist. He was a past president of the International Association of Counseling Services and had served on the College and University Counseling Center Accrediting Board.

The funeral will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Blacksburg. McCoy Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
