OBIT JONES, MINNIE BASHAM
JONES, Minnie Basham, 93, of Roanoke, died Sunday, September 12, 1993. She
went home to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her husband,
Edward Everett Jones, who was the former Road Master of Virginian Railway. She
was also preceded in death by her parents, James Edward Basham and Mary Fannie
Basham, formerly of Bedford. Mrs. Jones was a former employee of the
Craddock-Terry Shoe Company in Lynchburg, and the American Viscose of Roanoke.
She was a longtime member of Belmont Christian Church. Surviving are one
sister-in-law, Jewell Basham Jennings, Roanoke County; 38 nieces and nephews;
98 great-nieces and nephews; 100 great-great-nieces and nephews and 12
great-great-great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Oakey's
South Chapel, 3 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Rolen C. Bailey officiating.
Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive
friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Oakey's South Chapel.
