Warren's 174 yards was the third-highest total in Seahawks history, trailing only the 207 yards gained by Warner in that 1983 game against the Chiefs and the 192 yards by Warner against Denver on Dec. 20, 1986.
Patriots wide receiver Ray Crittenden, who caught just nine passes in his career at Virginia Tech, had five receptions for 68 yards Sunday.
Crittenden, a soccer star and part-time player at Tech, had not caught a pass in the Patriots' opening two games. The rookie free agent made a leaping 18-yard reception over the middle on New England's final drive as the Patriots tried to get into range for a tying field goal.
Pittsburgh tight end Eric Green, who starred at Liberty University, caught four passes for 70 yards. It was the biggest game in two years for Green, who all but disappeared from the Steelers' offense during an injury layoff and drug suspension last season.
Rookie Chris Slade out of the University of Virginia had two of New England's five sacks Sunday.
