GLENVAR SENIOR NAMED SALEM'S JUNIOR MISS

Candace Kanode, daughter of Glenn and Debbie Kanode, was picked as the 1994 Salem Junior Canode Miss on Saturday

The Glenvar High School senior also won the scholastic and panel evaluation and a $500 scholarship. She will compete in the state Junior Miss program in February in Roanoke.

Sara Gubala, daughter of Mary Gubala and a senior at Salem High School, won the creative and performing arts competition.

Missy Olson, daughter of David and Marion Olson and also a Salem senior, won the physical fitness and presence and composure competitions. She was also chosen by the other contestants to receive the Spirit of Junior Miss award.
