RAIDERS ROLL TO VICTORY

Marcus Cardwell ran back the opening kickoff 87 yards for a touchdown and North Cross went on to a 36-14 victory over Virginia Episcopal in a non-conference high school football game Saturday.

Raiders quarterback Hal Johnson was 10 of 17 passing for 127 yards and two touchdowns. North Cross (3-0) rolled up 242 yards on the ground and held Virginia Episcopal (1-2) to 55 yards rushing. Montrice Smith led the Raiders' ground attack with 76 yards and one touchdown on 10 carries. - Staff report
