OBIT FORTUNE, HARRY HOUSTON SR.

FORTUNE, Harry Houston Sr., 95, of Covington, died Saturday, September 25, 1993. Mr. Fortune was born April 28, 1898, in Alleghany County. He was the last surviving World War I Veteran in the Alleghany County area. Surviving are his son, Harry H. Fortune Jr. of Roanoke; his daughter, Mrs. Dick (Ruth) Tucker of Troutville; one sister, Mrs. James (Virginia) Burr of Covington; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. William A. Hartsfield officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive their friends from 7 until 8:30 Monday night at Arritt Funeral Home.
