In the men's game, Jason Entlich scored his ninth goal of the season as the Hokies (6-2) defeated the Golden Eagles 6-3. Entlich's goal and one by Junior Cummings gave Tech a 2-1 halftime lead. In the second half, Tech's Brian MacFarlane came off the bench to score two goals in two minutes, and Chris Chladek and Adam Johnson each added a goal. Brian Reaves, Chladek and Eric Emenheiser had assists for Tech. In goal, Hokies starter Jon DeLong recorded nine saves and allowed one first-half goal; Mark Nelson finished.
In the women's game, the Hokies overcame an early goal by Georgia Southern's Debbie Hensley to win 5-1. Freshman Tisha Truman and senior Christine Livingstone each had two goals for Tech (5-4). Sophomore Cindy Zier and Truman put Tech ahead 2-1 in the first half, and Truman and Livingstone added second-half goals. Juniors Kim Campbell and Jen Kaiser and sophomore Lori Beletsky made assists. The Hokies play at Campbell on Saturday at noon.
At Ferrum, Holly Culpeper and Carrie Early each scored and Erin Updike had an assist as the Panthers shut out Randolph-Macon Women's 2-0 in a non-district women's soccer match. Ferrum is 5-3; Randolph-Macon Women's is 3-4.
