OBIT PETTIT, RUDOLPH W.

PETTIT, Rudolph W., 85, of Pearisburg, died Wednesday, September 29, 1993, in Giles Memorial Hospital. Mr. Pettit was a retired employee of the Hoechst-Celanese Corp. He was a member of the Giles Masonic Lodge #196 AF&AM of Pearisburg, a member of the Pearisburg First United Methodist Church since April 1, 1942, and was a member of the Pop Finley Sunday School Class and a member of the Interdominational Pray Breakfast. He was born in Giles County on June 10, 1908, and was a son of the late Charles Webster Pettit and Alma Woods Pettit. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lynn Dyer Pettit. He is survived by one brother, Robert Pettit, Pearisburg; one sister, Virginia Pettit Bowers, Thomasville, N.C. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 2, 1993, at 11 a.m. in the Pearisburg First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Warren Stewart officiating with interment in Birchlawn Burial Park. Friends may call at the Givens Funeral Home Friday evening from 6 to 9 p.m.
