BRAINE LEADS INDIANS OVER VIKINGS 65-45

Meredith Braine scored 18 points, and Mary Thorn had 10 assists and eight points Thursday night as Blacksburg rolled over Northside 65-45 in a non-district girls' basketball game.

Blacksburg (9-1) led by only four points at halftime, but the Indians took control with 41 points in the second half. Four Indians scored 10 points or more.

Shannon Yopp led Northside (4-4) with 12 points.

Glenvar 62\ Parry McCluer 35

BUENA VISTA - The Highlanders got 17 points from Torey Morris and 14 from Marilaea Hale in a Pioneer District victory.

Glenvar (7-3) led 37-19 at halftime and never looked back.

Stephanie Rhodes led the Fighting Blues (4-6) with 12 points.

Radford 40\ Salem 30

RADFORD - The Bobcats raced to a 32-11 lead at halftime and coasted to a non-district victory. Jenny Bishop led Radford (2-9) with 14 points and Charlee Taylor added 10. Salem got a game-high 18 points from Shellie Johnson.

James River 52\ Craig County 28

NEW CASTLE - The Rockets turned the ball over 21 times, and the Knights capitalized by winning big in a Pioneer District game. James River (4-5, 3-0) was led by Angie Johnson's 19 points and Teresa Hickman's 16. The Rockets (2-4, 1-2) were led by Chrissy Robertson's 16 points.
