OBIT HODGE, SHERELL JUNIOR
HODGE, Sherell Junior, 79, of Laurel Wood Apts., Pulaski, passed away
Thursday, September 30, 1993. He was born May 8, 1914 in Pulaski County, Va.
He was the son of the late James Allen Hodge and Maggie Florence Raines Hodge.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Thurman L. Hodge and Lewis J. Hodge.
He was a member of the Shiloh Christian Church, Shiloh, Va., and was a retired
employee of the Virginia Dept. of Highway Transportation, Chesterfield County,
Va. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Shirley) Henley, Tarpon
Springs, Fla., Mrs. James (Anne) Duke, Chesterfield, Va., Mrs. Maynard (Sue)
Hedge, Dublin Va.; one son, Donald Pete Hodge, Hartsville, S.C.; seven
grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. James (Bertie)
Kennedy, Baltimore, Md., Mrs. Leo (Erma) Bedsaul, Baltimore, Md., Mrs.
Margaret Handler, Baltimore, Md., Mrs. Otey (Dorothy) Shull, Palm Desert,
Calif.; two brothers, Everett Thomas Hodge, Pulaski, James C. (Kack) Hodge,
Orlando, Fla. A graveside funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday from the
Goad Family Cemetery, Meadows of Dan, Va., with the Rev. Robert Marshall
officiating. Interment will follow in the Goad Family Cemetery. Visiting will
be anytime after 3 p.m. Saturday and the family will receive friends from 7 to
9 p.m from the Bower Funeral Chapel, 1631 Bob White Blvd., Pulaski. The family
will be meeting at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Maynard (Sue) Hedge, Rt. 1
(Lyons Rd.) Dublin, where friends may call at anytime. Bower Funeral Chapel,
Pulaski, is handling arrangements.
